Our Lodge Secretary WB Tom Jones has rejuvenated our library efforts! A few years ago, we set up an account at Library Thing . It's a very helpful tool for tracking and sharing book collections.

We still need to add missing acquisitions and donations, and come up with a method for cataloging and tracking their whereabouts

Anyway, you can view our collection by clicking the Quick Link on this page or via our Arcane Section

Happy perusing!

A couple of our worthy Brothers have contributed papers of Masonic interest. These can be found in our Arcane Section.

One of them is a speech that WM Bill Herzig delivered to our honored widows. It documents his quest for information for the speech.

"When I first decided to do this presentation on Masonic Widows I didn't know what direction it would take. I started my research and found there is really very little beside the indictment to every mason to support brother Mason's widows. So I had to go back to a beginning as to where widows are first mentioned."

The second is a contribution from PM Richard Skoglund "What do Masons do?" He read this paper at a meeting of Scientia Coronati this year

"There is a long standing tradition in Freemasonry to keep an aura of 'mystery' and 'secrecy' about our ritual and its teachings. This tradition has resulted in a two edged sword. It has prompted many curiousity seekers to join the Fraternity. When they fail to discover the supposed secrets they lose interest and leave while others, discovering that there really are "secrets" remain."

Payson Lodge No. 70 holds our Stated Meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. Dinner (almost always) begins at 5:30PM, followed by a guest speaker which we try to have each month.

All the other Tuesdays, a lot of us are in the Lodge practicing ritual, or some construction project. Feel free to stop by any time.
